Ranked Top 10 from Golf Digest's "World's 100 Greatest Golf Courses"

Originally created by Kyle Phillips in 2010 and the subject of a recent upgrade, Verdura Shore doesn’t always get the same attention as its 18-hole sibling but is no less of a challenge and just as beautiful. Following a front nine that starts with three demanding par fours and ascends through the estate, the layout heads back towards the coast on the back nine, with the course reaching a dramatic conclusion with the final six holes running alongside the Mediterranean. Large greens and tricky bunkers are again in play while players must also pay particular attention to the wind direction and strength, especially from the 13th hole onwards.

PAR 4

Hole 1 - Ailsa Craig

The Ailsa Craig, named after the Ailsa rock in the Firth of Clyde, is visible from almost every hole on the course. This opening hole must not be underestimated, clubbing and accuracy are key to avoiding the strategically placed greenside bunkers.

Hole 2 - Mak Siccar

The hole is named “Make Sure” for a reason. Poor shots will be punished with trouble lurking in almost every direction. Strategically placed fairway bunkers and a steep slope to the left of the fairway and green are just a few of the problems facing players. The green is deceptively long and will require careful club selection to avoid leaving a long, difficult putt.
